Stila Calligraphy Lip Stain

I was looking for a lip stain with a fine point, the product is exactly that. It is also long lasting, which is important. The biggest issue is the color, nothing as in the images. It is a strong orange. I bought 2 different ones, Hilary and Elizabeth, and they are identical, no difference whatsoever. A big part of choosing a lip color is that has to suit a skin complexion and I cannot wear either, too orange and too intense to wear everyday. It looks a bit clownish on me. I am wondering if they are all the same… Also, being a discounted product, I cannot return it, unfortunate. You can achieve a better, more natural effect by using a self tanner and applying it with a fine lip brush. It lasts for the whole day and it is subtle.

The color is not what it appeared on-line. It is much too orangey and very drying.

I purchased this in two colors and both are beautiful. However, after about a month of having them both and storing them as instructed, they have nearly dried up. I have also tried storing them upside down now and a little bit more product has come out but overall too expensive if the life of them is only about 2 months.

I purchased the Elizabeth and it looks nothing like the sample on the arm(s). it's a an orange-y peach while the arm makes it look like it's more brown. Even the swatch doesn't show how peachy it is. it seems like a nice product, though.

Fir those who aren't familiar with true lip stain, I can see how you might think it (or any other stain) isn't that great. It isn't really meant to be used alone. It can, but it's really supposed to keep color so your lips don't get lost on your face because they are the exact same color as your face naturally. When lipstick gets wiped off during a meal, you still have pink, in my case, lips and it keeps definition between face and lips. I am fair skinned and so are my lips. I'm also allergic to most makeup especially lip products, but this pen is perfect. I have found others that were great, but the ultimately got discontinued. Please don't discontinue this, but maybe put a nit more liquid in it. It runs out a little quick. Thanks Stila
